What we’re about

Are you an adult piano student or hobbyist? Would you like an opportunity to share your music and interest in playing the piano with other students? Then this group is for you! My name is Jerome. My friend Peter and I have both been students at Florence Phillips Music Studio in West Chester for about two-and-a-half years. While Florence holds adult student get-togethers two or three times each year, Peter and I would both like more opportunities to play in front of others and to share our interest in the piano with other like-minded adults. We had been holding our meetups at Peter's home. However, in August 2025 we transitioned to the Kennett Square Library, which is allowing us to use the grand piano and auditorium in their recently-built facility free of charge.

So even if you've never played in front of anyone other than your teacher, we're confident that you'll find this a safe and supportive experience, regardless of your skill level or your nerves. And if you're not sure whether you're ready to take the step of playing in front of others, you are welcome to join us just to listen and test the water. You decide if, and when, to play.

Each meetup will take about an hour-and-a-half, give or take, depending on how many people show up. The general plan is to give everyone the opportunity to play a piece, or two, if time permits. The piece can be whatever you desire...classical, pop, jazz standard, show tune, you decide. We will also have time before and after the performances to socialize. To keep each meetup from feeling too intimidating, we are limiting the attendance to 10 pianists.

So if you're interested, please join us by signing up here or via the Kennett Square Library web page (search "piano" and our group should pop up). And if you have any questions, please let me know!
