What we’re about
Are you an adult piano student or hobbyist? Would you like an opportunity to share your music and interest in playing the piano with other students? Then this group is for you! My name is Jerome. My friend Peter and I have both been students at Florence Phillips Music Studio in West Chester for about two-and-a-half years. While Florence holds adult student get-togethers two or three times each year, Peter and I would both like more opportunities to play in front of others and to share our interest in the piano with other like-minded adults. Fortunately, Peter has a baby grand piano in his home, and he's graciously offering it up to see if we can get this group started.
So even if you've never played in front of anyone other than your teacher, we're confident that you'll find this a safe and supportive experience, regardless of your skill level or your nerves. And if you're not sure whether you're ready to take the step of playing in front of others, you are welcome to join us just to listen and test the water. You decide if, and when, to play.
We anticipate that each meetup will take about an hour-and-a-half, give or take, depending on how many people show up. The general plan is to give everyone the opportunity to play a piece, or two, if time permits. The piece can be whatever you desire...classical, pop, jazz standard, show tune, you decide. We will also have time before and after the performances to socialize. We will have snacks and light drinks available. Peter's home is very comfortable. He lives in Chester Springs near the intersection of Route 100 and Uwchlan. It can comfortably handle about 10 to 12 people.
