Full Moon Drumming

Details
Community drum circle. Come and find your inner rhythm. We are a small chilled group meeting by the river. No experience is necessary and beginners are welcome, but we are delighted if you already have some skills to share. Raw beginners will find it stimulating s as it is all about participation and not about skill. I have lots of toys and extra drums so if you don’t own one, just show up and borrow one for the event. I suggest a $5 donation to go towards the wear and tear on shared equipment. I note have eftpos of people don’t have easy access to cash.
This is a free-flowing community event, so you can come and go as you please. But we do generally start on time (3.30 pm) and are likely to finish before 5.00 pm as the sun is going down.
Location – Orleigh Park, West End (find us at the position of ~58 Orleigh Street on Google maps).
Orient yourself in the Citycat stop, and walk several trees along past the Children’s playground and the bbq area. You will find us somewhere there. Don’t go to the main part of the park on Hill End Tce. It’s too busy and not as shaded.
We meet once a month. I endeavour to time the circle to coincide with the full moon but it is not always possible. Events will be earlier in the middle months for 2025.
Transport – we meet almost next to the bus stop, close to the ferry and there’s street parking, although the park can be busy.
Time – 3.30 pm start, finish around 5.00 pm. We start with drumming and finish off with peaceful handpan and tuned percussion.
Clothing – Something comfortable. It can be cool by the river even in summer. What to bring – A blanket, cushion or chair. If you have a drum, please bring it to add your own unique energy into the circle! We also provide additional drums and percussion instruments, for everyone to share. We have frogs, bells, shakers, chimes….. it’s quite a collection now.
People invited – Anyone and everyone! This a community-based, child-and-pet-friendly event. My dog, Ivy the Griffon, would not miss it for anything!
In case of inclement weather, check this page. I have rarely ever needed to cancel duty to weather.

Every last Sunday of the month
