Boxmoor, Roughdown, Bovingdon Circular Walk

Putting on an impromptu local walk, as plans have changed this weekend. It’s a gentle stroll, with fantastic views. It will also incorporate the newly built Boxmoor Trust pathway. Haven’t seen it yet, so will play by ear when there.

We meet @ 10:20 to leave promptly at 10:30 from the church seat, opposite the Three Blackbirds pub HP1 1NR. Free parking on street anywhere near.

From there we walk across the moor and up across the railway tracks 🚂 to Roughdown. Magnificent views from up there. We’ll saunter our way up the Old Roman Road to Bovingdon and cross to walk through an enclosed wood 🪵 to the newly formed Boxmoor Trust trail. Then head downwards towards the canal and back to our rendezvous point. Have drink and a snack when you’re back 🍺 🫚

The walk will take roughly 2.5-3 hrs and is approx 6.5 miles.
