Bourne End (or Boxmoor) to Bovingdon Circular walk
Details
This is a brand new walk, that I’ve adapted from one we did 15 months ago. Please note that there are two different starting points and distances. You choose which one you prefer.
We leave from the Anchor pub @ 10:30 and this walk is 6 miles long, however I am personally starting this from the Three Blackbirds pub (HP1 1NR) @ 09:50am. For those of you who would like a slightly longer walk then I'd be happy for you to start here too. This route will be 8.5 miles, as opposed to the 6. You choose. The group will not be waiting for anyone who is not on time 🚙
Depending on your starting point, we'll walk along a lane and onto the canal 🛶 until the third/forth bridge. We then come off and walk uphill to the top of the valley, where we'll look back at the fine views. We then head into some woods 🌳 and work our way down to pass under the A41. We take in a small copse, fields, pathways and many stiles. We then skirt in and out of Little Hay golf course and through Gorsfield woods, over the A41 and all the way back down to the towpath. Will end the walk at The Anchor pub, which has been taken over by new management🍺🍷🍟☕️
For those of you that started at the earlier point, we’ll then wander back to the Three Blackbirds 🐦⬛
NB: Cost is £2 due to increased Meet Up subscription. Please pay on the day or preferably beforehand via this link: https://www.paypal.me/aac007?locale.x=en_GB Please choose friends & family option only
If you enjoy the event we encourage participants to add a message and/or pictures after. Other members can and do read them, which gives them an idea of future events 📸 👍🏻
If you are unable to attend for any reason please ensure you change your RSVP to not going. Not doing this results in holding up everybody else, which is unfair on all. My contact number is 07376 796266
NB: This event is not led by a qualified leader, or covered by insurance. Please wear suitable footwear 🥾 and clothing. The organiser cannot be held responsible for any injuries, however caused. Members are expected to take responsibility for their own preparation and safety (including fluids, weather protection and a snack).
