The Dirty Dozen Ivinghoe circular walk 🪖

This cracking walk is only 5 miles, but does go up to Ivinghoe Beacon, which is obviously at the top of a very big hill! The views are truly magnificent. We’ll also descend down the hill that The Dirty Dozen actors rolled down (if you’re brave enough that is 💪🏻) Don’t worry, we also have a more sedate route down too.
We’re adding in Pitstone Windmill to this walk, at the start, which will get you up close and personal to this great piece of history.

We leave at 10:30am prompt from the Rose & Crown pub in Ivinghoe LU7 9EQ. Parking is very hit and miss near the pub, so I would advise getting there early as you may have to park further away than you think. Lots of spaces on the main road. Ideally car sharing would make life easier 🚙

To start, we head towards the mill in Pitstone and then into open fields and onto rolling hills. Eventually we will reach the top of Ivinghoe Beacon 🚨 The scenery is truly awe-inspiring, so bring your binoculars! We then descend steeply down to ground level and through little walkways and fields, ending in a mile long enclosed lane to a waiting pub 🍺🍟🍔
Distance is 5-5.5 miles. Will take approx 2.5-3hrs.
