Boxmoor to Potten End circular walk

This pleasant walk was a winner last time out, as the brilliant landlord Steve, put out a fantastic little spread for us. Was amazing and never charged us a penny! So support his bar if you come in after the walk 😋👍🏻

We leave @ 10:30am prompt from outside the Grapes pub, HP1 1QR. As only a small car park, please park anywhere near on the street. Lots of surrounding free parking on Saturday. Check signs. The group will not be waiting for anyone who is not on time 🚙

To start, we head down the road to the canal and trapse this for a while 🛶 then up a long hill and at the top show you a significant scientific scene of interest (SSSI) 🌳 This has just been completely renovated and shows several layers of the earth’s crust, in detail. Truly interesting.

Along the way we’ll pass through various enclosed fields, lanes and woods to Potten End. Then saunter along pleasant house views to the infamous haunted house 👻 Then back through the long enclosed path that is ‘Dead Man’s Alley’ 🗡 all the way back to the Grapes pub 🍇 🍺🍹 🍕 Will take approximately 2.5-3hrs. Roughly 6.5-7 miles.
