Short Taster Walk - Aldbury to Ashridge

I did this walk myself a couple of weeks ago and have re-routed it down to just 4.5 miles. This Is a great chance to try out a slightly longer walk than you may be used to, but nowhere near as far as we’d normally go.

We leave @10:30am prompt from outside Poppies cafe, HP23 5SA. Arrive early to park nearby or a 5 minute walk back from the free car park just past the Greyhound pub 🚙

To start, we walk up a long steep hill towards Ashridge Monument. You’ll be pleased to hear that we will now be veering off two thirds of the way up. We’ll venture through unchartered trails and down to a newly formed path 🌳 Passing a huge house we move onto picturesque open fields, whereby we then navigate a brilliant, rarely used track that I found, through the woods and finally back to a welcome descent of the hill to the very lovely Poppies Cafe 🫖🍰
