As part of Heritage Open Days, this special pop-up exhibition will bring together two unique heritage collections based in Berkhamsted: Dacorum Heritage’s Ovaltine Collection and the BFI National Archive’s film poster collection.
Dacorum Heritage will be sharing a small display of the advertising art from the Ovaltine Factory in Kings Langley. Be inspired by hand-painted prints and promotional materials from the early twentieth century. They reveal the artistry and skill that went into promoting this much-loved beverage that was manufactured in the local area.
To celebrate the long history of filmmaking in Hertfordshire, the BFI National Archive will showcase a small display of posters for films made in the area. With some studios proclaimed the ‘British Hollywood’, Hertfordshire is a leading destination in the UK for film and TV, with multiple studios and amazing filming locations. The display will explore some of the productions that have helped establish the county as a Tinseltown favourite.
