Very excited to be able to put this event on with our very own expert tour guide Peter W. He is an actual volunteer here. It’s one of the UK’s only working aircraft museums and will give you a huge amount of interesting info.

It also has the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence Award 🏅so will be a great day out.

NB: The cost for this event is £15 (or £13 if over 65) which covers entry, £1 Meet Up and £2 Gift Aid donation to the museum. Please pay on sign up via this link: https://www.paypal.me/aac007?locale.x=en_GB Please choose friends & family option.

We will start at the Walter Goldsmith Hangar where we will find three Mosquitos and the Horsa Glider. Next we enter the Sir Geoffrey de Havilland Hangar housing the pre-World War 2 exhibits, including the unique Comet la Jet airliner, a missile display and other memorabilia, as well as the operational Link Trainer and the Dragon Rapid (exhibition only, as not being built to fly). There is also a new display history of the Comet Racer flight trom London to Australia.

From there we move onto the Sea Vixen and then make our way into the Amy Johnson Hangar which is used for new restoration and conservation projects, including the new Sea Venom exhibit. The BAe146 Passenger aircraft follows.

We walk around the DH125, the Dove, the Heron and Comet 4 Simulator nose section. Then back up past the Vampire T11 jet trainer and onto the Trident fuselage. From there we walk aross to the Foreman's Office which is the oldest building at the museum and dates from the time the prototype Mosquito. Inside is an exhibition dedicated to the de Havilland Apprentices, a display of models of Airspeed aircraft and a mini cinema showing de Havilland films.

We’ll end back at the newly renovated Aeroshop/Café which has a good selection of refreshments, hot drinks, sandwiches and snacks, as well as a well stocked shop with a wide choice of books, model kits, die cast models, clothing and pocket money priced merchandise ☕️

Outside the shop is a yellow silhouette of exactly where the Prototype Mosquito was made.

Car parking is free. AL2 1BU.
