Easter Walk 🐣 St Albans to Gorhambury Estate

This Is a brand new walk that Don, Frixos and myself recce’d late Autumn 🍂 We’ve saved it for this Easter walk 🐣

We leave at 10.30 prompt from the entrance to the Verulamium Museum, St Albans AL3 4SW. Please congregate at the entrance and NOT the car park 🙏🏻 (There is also free parking anywhere opposite Waitrose on King Harry St. 5/6 minutes walk away).
Please ensure you are ready to leave 10/15 mins before the departure time 🚙

From there we cross the park and head West out of St Albans to navigate a field and a bridge over the A414. After walking through Park Wood 🌳 little lanes take us through Potters Crouch, Appspond, to then cross back over the A4147. After passing Hill End Farm 🐄 🐖 🐓 the route enters the Gorhambury Estate. A long Drive passes by Old Gorhambury (Tudor House Ruins) 🏛️ Gorhambury House, Roman Theatre 🎭 and back to St Michael's Village, whereby we’ll probably venture down to Ye Olde Fighting Cocks pub 🍻 which I believe is the oldest ‘Inn’ in the UK 🇬🇧
The walk will take about 3-3.5 hrs and is approximately 8 miles. We’ll take a short 10/15 minute break half way round, so bring a drink and a snack.
