Leisurely Bunkers Park Stroll, 2.5 miles
Details
Leila's Recovery Rambles Part 1!
This is a short, relatively flat walk around the lovely Bunkers Park which has lots to see at this time of year. Please note that it will be led at a gentle pace. As some of you know, I am recovering from a hip condition so I thought it would be nice to lead some easily accessible group walks.
Afterwards there is the option to drive half a mile to the nearby Leverstock Green shops and visit café or pub, whatever people like ☕️
We meet to leave @ 10:30am from Bunkers Park car park, next to the new Hemel Hempstead Crematorium, just off Bedmond Road, HP3 8LL. Please be ready to leave 10 minutes beforehand 🚙
NB: Bunkers Park car park itself only has about a dozen spaces, but there is additional parking on the right hand side of the driveway leading to the car park. Would recommend car sharing if possible
To start, we head across the green and cross Bunkers Lane where we make our way round two very large fields and come back to the lane where we re-cross. We then make our way round the main part of Bunkers Park through smaller meadows, through carefully managed coppice woods, to a viewpoint from where we can see Long Deans Nature Reserve. Then it's back across the park to the car park.
The walk is about 2.5 miles, and will take roughly 1.5 hours at a gentle pace 🤗
NB: There is no Meet Up fee for this walk.
If you enjoy the event feel free to post pictures and/or a message after, on the event itself. 📸 ✍️
If you are unable to attend for any reason please ensure you change your RSVP to not going. Not doing this results in holding up everybody else, which is unfair on all. My contact number is 07910 789097
NB: This event is not led by a qualified leader, or covered by insurance. Please wear suitable footwear 🥾 and clothing. The organiser cannot be held responsible for any injuries, however caused. Members are expected to take responsibility for their own preparation and safety (including fluids, weather protection and a snack).
