Boxmoor to Potten End circular walk

Every time we do this pleasant walk, the very generous landlord Steve puts out a fantastic little spread as a thank you for frequenting his establishment, so do support his bar 😋👍🏻

We leave @ 10:30am prompt from outside the Grapes pub, HP1 1QR. As only a small car park, please park anywhere near on the street. Lots of surrounding free parking on Saturday. Check signs. Please ensure you are ready to leave 10 mins before the departure time 🚙

To start, we head down to walk along the serene canal for a while 🛶 then up quite a long hill to the top where we’ll have a break while looking at a ‘significant scientific scene of interest’ (SSSI). This was recently renovated and shows several layers of the earth’s crust over the years. Very interesting 🧐
Along the way we’ll pass through various enclosed fields, lanes and woods to Potten End. Then saunter down to the infamous haunted house 👻 Then back through a long enclosed path that is ‘Dead Man’s Alley’ 🗡 all the way back to the Grapes pub 🍇 🍓🍌🍉🍺🍹
Will take approximately 2.5-3hrs and roughly 6.5-7 miles.
