Coombe Hill & Chequers Circular Walk

Haven’t done this walk in over 2 years!! Is a proper hike, so a drink and refreshments at the half-way point are essential 🥪🥤

We will leave @ 10:30 prompt from the Witchell Pavillion car park (HP22 6EF). This is a FREE car park. Please ensure you are ready to leave 10 mins before the departure time 🚙

To start Don takes us out West from Wendover, where we will then cross HS2 and skirt around the bottom of Coombe Hill fields to Ellesborough fields and through little tracks to pass Beacon Hill and then pick up the Ridgeway, which goes round the perimeter of the Prime Minister’s Country House, Chequers! 🏫 We then venture through the Woods 🌳 to the top of Coombe Hill, where we’ll take in the fine views from the Boer War Memorial ✝️ to descend back down to Wendover.

You can the decide where you want to end up. Cafe ☕️ 🍰 or pub 🍺 🍟 Will take roughly 3-3.5 hrs and will be 8.5 miles long.
