Boxmoor, Roughdown, Bovingdon Circular Walk

Join us for an old favourite, with fantastic views, that was last walked in Dec 2024! Slight variation to it, as recce’d again 2 weeks ago.

We leave @ 10:30 prompt from the church seat, opposite the Three Blackbirds pub HP1 1NR. Free on street parking anywhere near. Check signs. Please ensure you are ready to leave 10 mins before the departure time 🚙

From the church we walk across the moor and up across the railway tracks 🚂 to Roughdown common where you’ll take in magnificent views across Hemel town. We’ll saunter our way across woods and fields until we reach Bovingdon Church ⛪️ Then trek the Old Roman Road to an enclosed wood 🪵 and skirt the golf course all the way down to the newly formed Boxmoor Trust trail. Then head towards the canal and back to our rendezvous point. Have drink, chat and nibbles when we’re back 🍺🫚

The walk will take roughly 2.5-3 hrs and is approx 6.5 miles.
