Remembrance Sunday Walk 🌺

Lest We Forget 🌺 This walk commences after some of us have observed the marches and laying of wreaths beforehand ✝️

You are more than welcome to join the earlier service, as a number of us are also doing (posted separately).

We will be at the War Memorial HP1 1JY, opposite the Sports Centre wall. A lot of roads will be closed, so you may want to arrive earlier to find a parking space on any of the adjacent roads, in and around the Steamcoach Pub HP1 1NP, as will be very busy!

As we have the Remembrance first I’ve altered the route and reduced it down from a 7.5m walk to a more manageable 5 miles. Will be around 2.5 hours.

We aim to leave @ 11:20 (or before if we are all present) and move on across the moor and up into Roughdown, with some great views across Hemel. We’ll follow the woods 🪵 all the way up and onto the Old Roman Road. We then veer off to skirt Little Hay Golf Course ⛳️ then back down and across the moor, where we may briefly visit James Snooks grave 🪦 and return via a short stroll by the canal 🛶
For those that want to, we’ll join the veterans at the Steamcoach pub after to discuss the day 🍺
