What weโre about
Welcome to our Meetup group. It's for people whoโd like to take part in social activities on a regular basis, meet new friends and lead an active social life.
We aim to discover unique and unusual local activities and events, together with regular, more traditional Meetups like pub nights, meals, cinema/theatre, live music, semi-guided walks etc. Our aim is to compliment activities to your own social calendars.
We welcome new ideas and always encourage members to share with us your thoughts for future events.
Some events will be free and some we ask members make a small contribution to help cover Meetup costs. (Sadly itโs not a free service to the Organisers!)
In addition, we ask that all members keep in mind the fact that our Event Organisers are hosting their events completely voluntarily, in their own time and we need to make the events as straightforward as possible for them to run. The absolute basic requirement of all members is therefore to ensure that you keep your RSVPs up to date. If you put your name down to attend an event and later cannot make it, you need to be fair to all parties involved and click on โEdit your RSVPโ to โNot goingโ ahead of the event. Try not to leave it to the last minute if possible as there will quite often be people on a waiting list wanting to go, should a place become available.
The most important thing about this group is to feel safe, relaxed, included and above all, have fun ๐
Risk Disclaimer:
Please note that all members take part in all activities solely at their own risk, should any personal loss, accident, illness or physical injury occur during an event.

See all- Berko WW 1 trenches ๐ช Alpine meadow & Canal Floating Market WalkThe Crown - JD Wetherspoon, Berkhamstedยฃ2.00
Putting this on once more as a number of people have asked me to do it again ๐ชCome along for this in itโs own right or join up with the breakfast ๐ณ at 9am. (You can turn up as early as you like as we will be in there anyway).
We will be leaving at 10:30am prompt, from outside the Crown pub ๐ 145 High Street, Berkhamsted. Park in Canal Fields car park 4 hrs FREE, or on a single yellow line on a side street, which is allowed on a Sunday in Berkhamsted (Check signs). Alternatively arrive by public transport like some of us will do ๐๐
Please leave early enough, as you will need time to find a parking space and get to the rendezvous point in time ๐ ๐๐ปTo start, we will walk towards the castle ๐ฐ then through open fields and up towards the trenches. We will take a moment to remember the sacrifice that many have made for us โ๏ธ
We then carry on along wooded paths and little tracks to the beautiful Alpine Meadow Nature Reserve ๐ฆ Then back through highly enjoyable ups and downs, with great views, down to the canal, which will be hosting the annual Berkhamsted Floating Market where there will be lots of boats selling totally unique wares and something for everyone to enjoy.

This is a brand new walk that Don and I put together yesterday. Neither of us had walked it before and found it very pleasant, with many changes in terrain.
We leave @ 10:30am prompt from the Bell pub. You can park in their car park if staying after, or alternatively park 2 minutes down the hill on the roadside.
The group will not be waiting for anyone who is not on time ๐From the pub the walk heads down the hill and crosses the green to Studham common. We then go through 2 different woods ๐ชพ๐ณ to Beechwood Home Farm ๐ ๐ชฟ ๐ฆค At Kennels Lodge we head north to Roe End Lane crossing fields with glorious views to Markyate. We will take a half way stop here as they have a bakers, cafe and huge pub garden ๐ซโ๏ธ๐ท
The return picks up a track that passes Buckwood Stubbs, Deadmansey woods ๐ฒ and (at time of writing) a sea of yellow fields ๐ผ back to Studham common to finish at the superb Bell pub ๐ They also sell hundreds of little nik-naks and a briiliant food menu (see photos).
