GALAPAGOS END OF FEBRUARY-BEGINNING OF MARCH 2026

HI MEMBERS! there are many trips in my itinerary for 2026 but the one trip I desire I will most likely do alone unless there is someone out there who would like to venture on this solo trip without applying for the fees of a tour or travel agent.
I have done a lot of research and taking a tour to galapagos is way more expensive then doing it on your own! I have visited many sites and have found wonderful information.
Air from los angeles to Quito is about $400 round trip and then from Quito to the galapagos is approximately $297. There is a $200 entrance fee to the islands and a $20 guest charge.
Hotels range from $50 per night and up depending on how extravagent you want to get.
Cruises for 5 nights are about $1400 however that includes all meals and excursions, accomodations etc.
I am up in the air about home base so to speak as there are 3 main islands that accomodate guests. Would love to do a home base island and then a 5 day cruise etc.
Doesn't seem like restaurants are that expensive. a beer is $3 and their are markets. There are accomodations that have kitchens.
