The A21 bisects the heart of our West Kent walking group's territory and this is the first in a series of walks to follow the course of the A21 all the way to its end point in Hastings. Don't worry - we won't be walking down the central reservation - but instead criss-crossing the route to explore the surrounding beautiful countryside.
The first stage is from Chelsfield to Sevenoaks. Starting from Chelsfield station, we quickly make our first crossing of the A21 before heading up the North Downs to our lunch stop at the Coolings Lifestyle cafe. After lunch, it is all downhill with great views of the A21 (plus the picturesque North Downs!). We pass Chevening House and then on to Chipstead, finally finishing at Sevenoaks station, with the option to visit a nearby pub.
This is a linear walk, linked by the train line from Chelsfield station to Sevenoaks station. There is a frequent service between the two, taking c.15 minutes and costing £3.20.
For those not arriving by public transport, Chelsfield station has a car park, but there are plenty of free parking spaces nearby.

Subject to walk leaders approval we allow well-behaved dogs under full control of their owner. If you wish to bring your dog on the walk, please check with the walk leader before arriving for the walk.
Please note that there is a £2 payment required for non-Ramblers members to help cover our Meetup costs. Please help the walk leader by bringing the exact change.
Members of the Ramblers Association are welcome on any of our walks, but we would still encourage you to RSVP on Meetup. This will give our volunteer walk leaders an idea of how many are attending, and also to keep the numbers manageable. If, on the day of the walk, you are still on the waiting list and a Ramblers member, you can attend just let the walk leader know you are coming by adding a comment 'Coming as a Rambler'. You will find the start location via our website Our Walks (westkentwalkinggroup.org.uk).
