Clay Day 1/3 at Perivale Library
Details
Clay Day - 1st part of the 3 part workshop.
A pleasant and calming clay activity for ages 5 – 100 at the magical Perivale Library.
A course for exploring earthenware clay and hand building techniques with the main focus on unleashing your creativity and exploring the medium of clay.
This is a hands-on clay experience where at the 2 first sessions we focus on turning your creative ideas into clay pieces that would get fired and would be glazed at the 3rd session. All activity is centered around following the flow of the process and evolving ideas from where the process takes us.
The course is made so that the participants can explore their creative ideas through hand-building, slab technique, pinched pot making, coiling. Each participant is welcome to make several pieces and keep them. Please be aware that due to the bad technique, drying process or kiln firing sometimes the works break.
We will be working with the earthenware clay and earthenware clay glazes. This is a three part course with an intention to bring your ceramic ideas to completion. The 1st and 2nd Sunday we will be making clay objects to have them dry and fired ready for the 3rd Sunday when we will be doing the glazing part. Between the 3rd and the 4th Sunday works will be fired and ready to be picked up at the Perivale Library. For the December course, we hope to be finished with the firing on time before Christmas, subject to changes in case of a vast number of works.
