Spring Melt Off on the LOWER ROGUE

Details
The spring thaw has brought the water up another 7 inches higher than last weekends paddle (currently it's at 5.25 feet).
This will be a high hazard cold water paddle. Therefore NO NEWBIES, and only experienced paddlers that have done winter paddles in the past. Expect around a 2 hour paddle which will include the Childsdale rapids. If you don't have a spray skirt expect some water to splash in your boat at the rapids, or from some of the high standing waves along the way. Dry pants, or a wet suit, or even rain pants will help to keep your lower end drier and warmer on this paddle.
We will meet at River Park by 11:00AM and spot to the Grand River access (unless there is ice at the mouth of the Rogue River, then we'll select an alternate take out). Paddles wet by 11:45AM.
Attendees will be required to carry dry bags on board with a complete change of clothes. Any safety or rescue equipment that you are familiar with should be included with your cold weather gear. Paddlers will be asked to stay together as a group.
Proper cold weather paddling gear is required, and is the responsibility of the paddler. Layers of non absorbent cloths are required.
Let's paddle!
