Upper Platte River-Veterans SFCG to Deadstream Rd

Approx. 12 MILES 4-5 hours includes a lunch stop.
Meet at the Veterans Memorial State Forest Campground at 10:00am. (only about a 15 minute drive from Interlochen State Park) Unload our gear and we will leave the put in to spot vehicles at 10:30am at the take out. I am going to limit the number of attendees (cars) because of limited parking at the take out on the side of Deadstream road.

Take out: 44.684111, -86.059338 Deadstream Road before the dead waters (about 10-15 minute drive from the put in)

Beautiful clear, clean small river. 1-3 feet deep, 20-40 ft wide, shallow riffles. Goes through the small town of Honor. Low banks we will plan to stop for a lunch break.

Everyone will meet at the put in, unload their kayaks, PFD, paddle, lunch, water, Then, those who drove a vehicle, (not passengers)will follow each other to the take out. Park all vehicles, a few vehicles will shuttle everyone back to the put in.

1. PFD Required to be worn properly at all times. Everyone is responsible for their own safety!
2. It's recommended that you bring some dry clothes in a dry bag and some in your car.
3. Please be aware that we enjoy our alcoholic beverages off-river only due to safety and other concerns. Please respect the event host (It's awkward approaching someone mid-trip) and the clubs position on this matter. We’ll enjoy one with you after the trip.
4. We leave on time to make sure that those who have to drop out with out contacting us can do so. We also can't wait for those who will be running late to keep the paddle in order. Please be on time or early!
5. We leave together after the safety talk and picture. Please remain on land until the host has completed their duties in this regard.
