Pigeon River Quick Trip - Pigeon River Road to M-68

Details
The only stretch of the Pigeon I know to be passable thus far, after the ice storms, is the stretch past my cabin from Pigeon River Road to M-68. It is a quick run at about 4 miles, and less than 1.5 hours. If there is enough water, it includes the fastest stretch of the river. If there is not, it can be slow if you do not have good skills at reading the river through rock gardens. Either way, it is time on the water on my favorite river.
Afterward, if there is interest, we can have a beer and snacks at my cabin (if the group is not too large, bring chairs), or hit the food trucks at Northland Brewing in Indian River.
3:10PM - be ready to shuttle
3:30PM - safety talk & paddles in the river
The shuttle is very short so if you arrive late we can easily get you back to your car.
I believe this stretch to be passable with just one bump over or climb over. That said, the river changes with every storm, and trees that were weakened by the ice storm could have come down since the last report. A trout guide does run this stretch in a raft and tends to keep it clear enough for his clients.
