We may have to make a detour due to road construction on US31 in Interlochen. This is a 12 MILE paddle (4-5 hours).
9:53AM: Leave Interlochen State Park.
10:15AM: Meet at the Veterans Memorial State Forest Campground:

(a 15 minute drive from Interlochen SP). Unload boats & gear. We will leave the Put-In to spot vehicles at 10:30AM.
TAKE-OUT #1: The official trip is Platte River Park (avoids river widening and the Dead Stream. Ample parking.).

Beautiful clear, clean small river. 1-3 feet deep, 20-40 ft wide, shallow riffles. High steep banks. we will plan to stop for a lunch break, less than half way.
Everyone will meet at the put in, unload their kayaks, PFD, paddle, lunch, water, Then, those who drove a vehicle, (not passengers) will follow each other to the take outs. Park all vehicles, a few vehicles will shuttle everyone back to the put in.
- PFD Required to be worn properly at all times
- It's a good idea to bring dry clothes in a dry bag and some in your car.
- Please be aware that we enjoy our alcoholic beverages off-river only due to safety and other concerns. Please respect the event host (It's awkward approaching someone mid-trip) and the clubs position on this matter. We’ll enjoy one with you after the trip.
- We leave on time to make sure that those who have to drop out with out contacting us can do so. We also can't wait for those who will be running late to keep the paddle in order. Please be on time or early.
- We leave together after the safety talk and picture. Please remain on land until the host has completed their duties in this regard.
- Our sport is inherently dangerous. By signing up for this event you assume full responsibility for your and your quests safety, equipment and well being. The event includes but is not limited to loading, unloading, transport of equipment and shuttle participation. Failure to sign up for this event precludes participation in this group's events.
