Glad you found us! NY Tri-state SociABILITY, also known as Friday Night Live, is for high functioning young adults, 20s-30s seeking friendships and activities. We changed the name since our activities take place on various days. Some of our members have Aspergers, or learning disabilities, but are physically and mentally capable and eager to engage in the same activities as other young adults. Our sons/daughters go bowling, to the movies, plays, tubing, hiking, have even walked Manhattan's West Side bike path, and many drive. While family members often help plan outings, and arrange transportation for non-driving members, the young adults already possess the social skills to enjoy themselves without the presence of parents/caregivers. Please note, if you, your young adult, has more significant needs, this may not be the appropriate group, as we do not have any professional staff, just people gathering together for social time. This is a group run by, and for, our young adults, with a little organizational help from us mentors/family members.
