ABOUT THE PRESENTATION
In this session we'll explore a new eCommerce engine for WordPress. Prodigy Commerce is a powerful alternative to WooCommerce for building stores with WordPress. This presentation will focus on how WordPress designers, developers, and agencies can create beautiful, fully functional stores for their clients with only ONE free, open-source plugin connected to a hosted platform that’s free at any scale. Prodigy represents the best of both worlds: the WordPress CMS and complete design flexibility coupled with a Shopify-like backend experience for store owners. After a handful of introductory slides, we’ll dive right into a live demo of the platform and answer any questions you may have.

ABOUT THE PRESENTER
Brian McGowan has 20+ years of experience working at the intersection of technology and finance, the vast majority of which has been entrepreneurial in nature. He co-founded Prodigy Commerce in 2018, hired a team of 10 software engineers, and worked with them to lay the architectural foundation for and conceive the design of the company’s SaaS platform and WordPress plugin. Given their recent commercial launch, he's now focused on communicating the benefits of their eCommerce solution for WordPress to the community of developers, designers, and agencies. His educational background includes a BS in Finance from California State University, Northridge in 2001 and an MBA from Pepperdine University in 2004.
