What we’re about
Welcome to the West Seattle LGBT+ Meetup Group! Our group is a safe and welcoming space for members of the LGBT+ community and allies in West Seattle and surrounding areas. We aim to provide a supportive community where members can connect with others who share their interests and experiences.
Our group is open to all members of the LGBT+ community, including but not limited to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning individuals. Allies are also welcome to join and support our community.
Our events will include a variety of activities, such as social gatherings, and community events. We encourage members to suggest and organize events that align with our group's values and interests.
Our group is committed to creating a safe and inclusive environment for all members. We do not tolerate discrimination, hate speech, or any form of harassment. We ask that all members respect each other's identities and experiences.

Join your LGBT+ West Seattle friends for a creative workshop at the Southwest branch of the Seattle Public Library!
How does drawing lead to mindfulness? During this engaging workshop, we focus on bringing every participant into the creative process, even the reluctant ones. By honoring all drawing types and easing into our exercises, art educator and cartoonist Cara Bean shows how even the smallest marks on paper have a lot to teach us about honoring ourselves, feeling creative, and connecting to everyone around us.
By honoring all forms of expression—no matter how simple or intricate—participants will discover how every line, curve, and shape can teach us about patience, self-compassion, and creative flow. This workshop is about more than just drawing; it's an opportunity to tap into mindfulness, letting go of judgment and embracing the freedom to create without pressure. Whether you're a seasoned artist or a first-time drawer, this session will help you reconnect with your inner creativity and feel a sense of community through art.
