Please join your book club friends at Roberto's Ristorante in Elmhurst to discuss the international best seller "Pale Blue Dot: A Vision of the Human Future in Space" by Pulitzer and Emmy award winning author Carl Sagan. Sagan's great appeal as a popular-science writer, beyond his deep knowledge, is his optimism and sense of wonder.

Sagan uses the famous photograph of Earth from afar as a "Pale Blue Dot" to reveal how scientific discovery has altered our perceptions of who we are and where we stand in the universe and challenges us to weigh what we will do with that knowledge.

This book was originally published in 1994 and revised in 1999 and, therefore, will not be a source to learn about more recent astronomical discoveries. Also, as the book contains a large amount of photos and illustrations, an Audio-book may not be appropriate.

Newcomers are always welcome at our gatherings. Not a member yet? Go ahead and join our group and take advantage of the opportunity to discuss fascinating books with interesting people!

NOTE: Roberto's has required a $25 minimum food/ beverage purchase.

Parking is available either 1) on the street, 2) in a lot behind the restaurant via the alley or 3) in a lot across the street from the front of the restaurant.
