Please join your book club friends at Roberto's Ristorante in Elmhurst to discuss Last Acts, by Alexander Sammartino.
Last Acts is a darkly humorous, yet touching, crime-family drama that is a gritty mix of gun culture, opioid crisis, generational clash and redemption.
Sammartino recently received an award as one of the “5 Under Thirty-Five,” by The National Book Awards that recognizes five fiction writers under the age of 35 whose debut work promises to leave a lasting impression on the literary landscape. He was recommended by George Saunders, one of our favorite authors. For Saunders' comments at the award ceremony link to https://georgesaunders.substack.com/p/when-is-ones-work-ones-real-work
