THE DROWSY CHAPERONE is a hilarious musical farce. Winner of 5 Tony Awards (including Best Book and Best Original Score), THE DROWSY CHAPERONE is a loving send-up of Jazz Age musicals, filled with show-stopping song and dance numbers.

When diehard theater fan, the Man in the Chair, puts on his favorite record album, the cast recording of the fictional 1928 musical THE DROWSY CHAPERONE, the story comes to life onstage. Two lovebirds on the verge of their wedding day, gangsters posing as pastry chefs, a bumbling would-be Don Juan, a chorus girl longing to be the leading lady and a tipsy chaperone -- singing and dancing together in an evening of madcap delight.

Though the venue is in the Westview Hills middle school building, this is NOT A KIDS SHOW. These are adult community theatre actors performing before an adult audience.

Find me holding the West Suburban Theatre Meetup Sign-in placard at least a half-hour before the show. Even if you choose not to wear them, please pick up my (home-made) name tags as that is how I keep attendance.

HEADS UP: Purchasing Tickets is surprisingly complicated through their website.
As such, I highly recommend you plan for credit card or cash purchase at the door.
Tickets are $20.00.

If you opt to purchase through the the Westmont Performing Arts website , Please see Donna's post in the comments below. (Click "See more comments".)

The Venue
I visited Westview Middle School on Sept. 12. The school is a block East of Cass on 65th street. (My GPS sent me West of 65th.) Take the third entrance to arrive at the main entrance.

The "theatre" appears to be a multi-purpose room. There is no permanent seating. And though Cheryl Newman assured me the tables would be replaced with chairs, expect classroom-type seating.

Post Performance
I found Papa Passeros nearby. But they are open only until 10:00 P.M. So I am open to any suggestions from anyone familiar with the area.
