A brief Synposis
In every family, some roads are left untraveled -- for a reason.
Secrets of the Father is a work of literary historical fiction with coming-of-age and mystery elements, set against the backdrop of a 1964 road trip.
It's the summer of 1964, and Jack Dolos has left behind the only life he's ever known in a quiet suburb of Chicago. But when a box of old photographs surfaces --family images in places that don't appear on the route Father marked on a map -- the carefully constructed family history begins to unravel. Armed with an Instamatic camera, a battered 1955 Plymouth Belvedere and a quiet sense f rebellion, Jack sets out to trace the true path his father tried to hide. The journey leads him deep into the forgotten corners of the American West.
As the miles stretch on and the lines between myth and memory blur, Jack must decide whether discovering the truth is worth unearthing the lies that hold his family together.
Part road trip, part mystery, and part coming-of-age story, Secrets of the Father is a haunting exploration of legacy, identity and the cost of knowing.
