What West Town Social Club is about: Bringing people together and having a good time with various activities at venues in and around the West Town area! This group is for anyone looking to connect with others, whether you live in the West Town neighborhood, elsewhere in the city, or even out-of-town.
What we do: West Town Social Club puts on a wide range of events. We do meet and greets, arcade nights, traffic light parties, bar crawls, art crawls, holiday celebrations, sporting competitions, and more!
Where we go: Most events take place either in West Town or nearby neighborhoods. Venues we've been to include Innjoy Wicker Park, Desert Hawk Bar, Emporium Logan Square, Midwest Coast Brewing, Cobra Lounge/All Rise Brewing, Butch McGuire's, Standard Bar and Grill, Goose Island Brewing, Diversey River Bowl, North Ave Beach, Wicker Park (the park), Louie's Pub, Beauty Bar, Barcocina West Town, and more!
Who's behind WTSC: West Town Social Club was founded by Alan Vaughters in August 2022, of which Alan remains the organizer & sole proprietor. Alan was inspired to start WTSC in the aftermath of 3 events: 1) all of his friends living in and near West Town leaving the area within a four month period, 2) finding a shortage of social events (whether through Meetup or other platforms) in the area which left lasting impressions, and 3) the decision to end his teaching career and find something fun and exciting to do in his post-teaching life! Alan now wears multiple hats as a tutor, Taskrabbit Tasker, and event organizer. He is the person you will check-in with at all WTSC events (unless otherwise noted), and has yet to miss one!

The first 2 stops will have drink specials exclusive to crawl attendees! Specials will be announced to attendees alongside the crawl schedule.

Looking for some fun in the sun with a cold drink in hand while making new friends?West Town Social Club has a fun Friday night for you!
Sign up by yourself or with friends and get placed on a team for a fun night of bocce on an outdoor patio. No experience is required in order to participate--this outing is about having fun and making new friends while engaging in a little friendly competition :)
Each team will consist of up to 4 players (2 guys + 2 ladies), with up to 6 teams participating. All teams are guaranteed at least 5 games of bocce, with each team playing each other at least once.
The team with the best record at the end of the night will get $100 on West Town Social Club's tab for drinks, food, or to share with others (all the more reason we keep it friendly)!

In the event of inclement weather, this event may be rescheduled to a new date within 90 days. Should the event be postponed, refunds or credits will be offered to those who cannot make the new date. Any decision to postpone will be at the organizer's discretion.

Unlike most singles events, Thirsty Thursday Singles Night is a chance for singles to get together in a casual, social setting without the pressure of trying to be matched by the end of the night. The goal of the evening is simply to have fun in making good conversation, regardless of romantic interests, with the hope of expanding social circles. That way, even if you don't make a special connection, you may find yourself some wingmen/wingwomen or someone who may eventually connect you with that special connection :)
All attendees for this event will receive happy hour specials all night long! These include $2 off the beer of the month, $9 bourbon old fashioneds, and $4 shots of Fernet/Tullamore D.E.W.

West Town Social Club's beach volleyball tournaments are created specifically with individual players in mind--no need to pay for a whole team and beg your hesitant friends to join! All players in this tournament are registered as individuals, and will be assigned to one of four (4) teams based on self-ratings--we do our best to make sure all teams are evenly talented.
Whether you are a beginner or an expert volleyballer, this event is all about allowing everyone to play in a non-competitive, fun environment. Why? Because at West Town Social Club, we're all about having a good time! This event will be co-ed, so that everyone has a chance to play.
RULES/FORMAT
Most standard recreational volleyball rules will apply. West Town Social Club's ruleset can be found here. Team assignments and the tournament schedule will be sent in detail via email prior to the event.The first round will be a round robin in which each team plays 3 games--one game against each other the other 3 teams in the tournament. This will be used to seed teams from 1-4 for the second round. Any tiebreakers will be determined first by head-to-head results, and then by point differential. The second round will serve as a semi-final, with the #1 seed playing #4 and #2 vs. #3 in in traditional best-of-3 format. The winners of the second round will then play a best-of-3 for the championship in the third round, with the losing teams playing a best-of-3 consolation round.
The winning team will win 2 buckets of beer/seltzer at the after party! More on that below...
AFTER PARTY
We will have a great after party lined up after the tournament ends! Specials include $25 domestic buckets, $30 seltzer buckets, and $5 Jameson shots.Registration closes 24 hours prior to the event on 7/11, no exceptions! Reserve your spot today!
