Itinerary
Meet outside the caving and pothole club. We start by walking past the farmhouse and take an immediate right. We follow the footpath around the hillside, gradually descending into the little valley below to a stream. We follow a footpath alongside the stream (likely will be dried up - this is normal at this time of year for many rivers in the Dales), gradually ascending until we can cross over the stream and veer off up the hillside on our right.
We ascend up over moorland and fields, no official path (it is not on OS Maps but it is on other maps) to follow so may be a few gates to climb over, it is open access so it is legal and not trespassing. We contine up and cross over a moorland farm road. We then take a more defined path gradually ascending at first. The path then swings round and becomes a steep acent up to the top of Gragereth.
Will aim for lunch up here where we can enjoy views of Ingleborough and Whernside. Once ready we continue along the tops/ridge over Green Hill then a short ascent to the top of Great Coum where we can enjoy views of Dent village & Dentdale.
The walk ends by walking over Crag Hill and then following the dirt road which turns into the road we parked on. We can then drive down to Kirkby Lonsdale and find a pub to go in before heading home if people are up for that.
