Itinerary
Meet outside the front of the Methodist Church (other side of the road from the car park for Gascoigne Arms). We start by making our way out of the village down Elmwood Lane and then down Carrfield Lane which soon turns into a footpath. We follow the footpath for 1mi/1.6km through fields until we come onto the end of Scholes's Main Street. We walk down this road briefly to the junction with Leeds Road and cut over to a dirt road called Bog Lane.
We walk down this road for 1mi/1.6km until we can veer off onto a footpath that will take us through fields, passing Garforth Golf Club. Until we come out onto Ellis Lane. Short walk down this road, cross the main road onto Parlington Lane. Then down this country road for 2mi/3.2km passing through woodland and countryside until it comes out into the village of Aberford.
We walk down Aberford's main street, can stop for a coffee etc... if there's a cafe. We then turn off onto Becca Banks and follow this road until we must veer off onto a footpath to avoid walking into Becca Hall's estate. It is then through a farmyard until we can take another footpath through fields and passing woodland.
The path comes out onto Potterton Lane. We walk down this country road passing a few farms until we can take a footpath up to York Road (A64). Its a short walk along a footpath adjacent to the road before turning onto the Leeds Country Way which we follow alongside Potterton Beck, over a small hill and then into Berwick where we started. We can then go into a pub for food & drink before heading home.
