Itinerary

Meet at the Ashness Bridge car park (see link above). The walk starts by crossing over the road and following a footpath up onto the fells for 1.75mi/2.8km ascending up to High Seat (Central Fells) - Wainright #1 (609m). It is quite steep for the first kilometer (half a mile) as there will be 300m of ascent, then it levels out to be a more steady ascent to the top.

We then descend a bit and cross the moors to High Tove - Wainrigh t#2 (515m). We then continue across the moors with a little more descent down to Armbroth Fell - Wainright #3 - (479m). We then descend down to what looks to be a disused packhorse road, may have views of Thrilmere Lake and Helvellyn on the otherside as we go. If not, the road soon enters a forest and we follow the boardwalk to Raven Crag - Wainright #4 (461m) for a stunning view of Thrilmere Lake looking out towards Grasmere.

We then need to backtrack on ourselves a bit until we can take a footpath back up to High Seat. This ascent is slightly longer and not as steep as the start was. We then continue across the moors to Bleaberry Fell - Wainright #5 (590m). We then descend down to Walla Crag - Wainright #6 (379m) for stunning views (pictured) of Derwent Water.

The walk ends by descending back down via a footpath off the fells and comes out onto the road the car park is at. Its then just a short walk back to the car park. We can then go back to Keswick and find somewhere to eat & drink.
