Itinerary
Meet at the car park above. The walk starts by taking the dirt road up and over Gatescarth Pass. It is a gradual 250m ascent over 1mi/1.6km. It is then a 100m descent down the dirt road over another 1mi/1.6km. We then turn off onto a footpath that is a steepish 250m ascent to the top of the first wrainright. Wainright #1 - Tarn Crag (664m).
It is then a small descent over the moors to Wainright #2 - Grey Crag (638m). We then slightly retrace our steps around Tarn Crag and then descend 200m to ascend 200m again to Wainright #3 - Branstree (712m). We should be able to enjoy views of Haweswater from now on.
It is then over the moors to Wainright #4 - Selside Pike (655m). We then continue on over to what was a packhorse road, lovely named, Old Corpse Road. Which we follow back down to the road and reservoir which we then follow back to the car park.
