Join us for an unforgettable hike up Pen-y-Ghent, one of the iconic Yorkshire Three Peaks and one of the most rewarding walks in the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

Standing at 694 metres (2,277 ft), Pen-y-Ghent offers a brilliant mix of scenic countryside paths, gradual climbs, and an exciting rocky scramble near the summit. On a clear day, the views stretch across the Dales — and you’ll absolutely feel like you’ve earned them.

What to expect:

  • Distance: approx. 6 miles (circular route)
  • Duration: 3–4 hours (steady group pace with breaks)
  • Terrain: Well-defined paths, stone steps, and a short rocky scramble near the top
  • Difficulty: Moderate (good fitness recommended)
  • Bring a packed lunch and plenty of water

We’ll start from the village of Horton-in-Ribblesdale, following the classic circular route up the southern face before descending via the gentler return path. There’ll be plenty of opportunities for photos, snacks, and that all-important summit moment.

This walk is perfect if you:
✔ Want to tick off one of the Yorkshire Three Peaks
✔ Enjoy a social, supportive hiking group
✔ Love big views and a sense of achievement
✔ Are training for longer hikes or challenges

Please bring:

  • Sturdy walking boots (essential)
  • Waterproof jacket (this is Yorkshire after all!)
  • Water and snacks
  • Appropriate layers for changing weather

We’ll keep a friendly, inclusive pace — no one left behind. Whether this is your first peak or your fiftieth, you’re very welcome.

Let’s get outdoors, get moving, and take on Pen-y-Ghent together 🥾🌄
