Wachusetts Dam aka the Clinton Dam spectacular foliage!

A Rare chance to walk atop the
Wachusett Dam, also known as
the Clinton Dam

while experiencing this uncommon PROMENADE event!

For just a few hours this fall,
visitors will be able to access a section of the Wachusett Dam that is typically off-limits to the public.

Wachusett Dam in Clinton on Sunday, Oct. 11, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
For a three-hour window, visitors can
stroll along the promenade and meet
watershed rangers to learn about programs, which safeguard metropolitan Boston’s water supply.

Parking for the event is limited along Route 70 near the dam’s main property at 265 Boylston St.

We will "Meetup" at Clinton High School,
a 1-mile easy walk to the dam
along the scenic
North Dike Path,
Due to increased security measures,
attendees cannot bring backpacks,
briefcases or other large bags onto the dam,

Service and medical support animals are welcome,
pet dogs are not allowed anywhere on the watershed property.

Completed in 1905, the Wachusett Dam was once the largest gravity dam in the world. Today, it impounds the Nashua River to form the Wachusett Reservoir, holding about 65 billion gallons of water and serving as the second-largest body of water in Massachusetts.
