Not a beginner or relaxed pace hike

This hike is slightly more difficult than the typical Westchester County hikes.

The hike is located in Putnam County on the New York and Connecticut border. The Michael Ciaiola Conservation Trail is a good workout with panoramic views of the surrounding area. Portions of the hike feature babbling brooks and waterfalls. There is significant elevation gain on this hike, so make sure you are up for the challenge. We will start clockwise to get the main climb out of the way. This will be the safer option due to the recently fallen leaves.

Summary:
Strong intermediate level
2.5 mph
7 miles
1400 feet of elevation
muddy spots
