Van Cortlandt Park- The Back Trails
Details
Moderately paced around 5 miles- Hike in the back woods of Van Cortlandt Park including the OCA (Old Croton Aqueduct) Trail. We will also hike the OCA into Yonkers, a short distance. Our time out should be around 2.5 hours. Joint with AMC. Inclement weather will postpone the hike. No pets. Guests who can keep up the pace are also welcome.
Meet at 10:00 a.m. on the nearby benches by the restrooms.
Sign up ONLY if you intend to attend. We will have a brief restroom break during the hike. Wet weather cancels. Expect a large group.
Driving Directions: Free parking lot by the golf course. Drive on Van Cortlandt South to Van Cortlandt Park East, continue under the overpass exactly where you would enter the Thruway. DO NOT enter the Thruway. Bear to your left and go under the overpass to the parking lot.
Just to be clear, after you park, you will need to walk about 10 minutes to the subway station and the nearby restrooms to meet the group on West 242nd St and Broadway.
Meet at 10:00 a.m. on the nearby benches by the restrooms. A large group is expected.
