3 Mile Hike - Rockefeller State Park

This group is for hikers over 60 who haven't given up on their love of hiking and being in nature despite their age or level of physical conditioning. Our pace is slow on the uphill and moderate on the level and down hill.

We start as a group, we hike as a group and we end as a group. Our goal is to stay fit while enjoying the camaraderie of hikers who have similar skills and goals.

Trail Head: From the south,exit the Taconic State Parkway for route 117, make left onto route 117 for about 1.2 miles. Park your car by gates on the shoulder of 117. From the north, take exit 8 and follow Route 100 south. Make right onto route 117 for about 1.1 miles. Park your car by gates on the shoulder of 117. Meet in front of the bathrooms in the main parking lot.

The park is all smooth 20 FOOT WIDE carriage roads where we can walk and talk. Little elevation gain. 2 HOURS, moderate pace, 3 MILES.
