SUNDAY NOVEMBER 29th - POST-THANKSGIVING "WALK YOUR STUFFING OFF!" HIKE

IT'S BEEN A FEW YEARS SINCE I'VE HELD OUR ANNUAL "WALK YOUR STUFFING OFF" POST-THANKSGIVING DAY HIKE BUT THIS YEAR WE'RE GONNA DO IT!

OUR DESTINATION IS TURKEY HILL LAKE IN HARRIMAN PARK :D

This hike will be led by my good friend KEVIN SKEE of HARTFORD AREA HIKING MEETUP. Kevin's immensely popular group has been around since 2005 and he has hiked with us many times - including TURKEY HILL LAKE. • EVERYONE MEET AT 10:00 a.m.

• HIKE IS APPROX 3.5 MILES, CASUAL PACE/APPROX 3 HOURS w/ BREAKS - we should finish by approx 1:30

• CHILDREN OVER 12 OR WITH EXPERIENCE, YES

• WELL BEHAVED DOGS ON LEASHES, YES

*REQUIRED: TO HIKE YOU MUST HAVE A CLEAR PICTURE OF YOURSELF ON YOUR MAIN PROFILE! This is for your safety as well as for organizational purposes - We need to know who we are looking for/have on each hike. Please don't make me chase after you or delete your rsvp for lack of picture.

• NOTE: THERE IS NO PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION AND THERE WILL BE NO CARPOOL THIS TIME. Please don't make arrangements to carpool in comments. (Contact each other directly, contact organizer(me) or hike leader (Kevin) directly, or bring a guest and have them drive - make sure to rsvp your guest!)

*We will stop for an extended snack break by the lake. Bring water, snacks/light lunch. Dress in layers! It will be sunny but cold - I'd bring gloves/hat/scarf. Don't forget your camera! And please DO post your pictures!! Thanks!

DIRECTIONS and Where to meet:

FROM WESTCHESTER SIDE OF THE BRIDGE:

Take Route 87 North
over Tappan Zee Bridge about 8 miles
to Palisades Parkway North (Exit 13N)
go about 15 miles to Exit 18 Rte 6W (on the left) .
Follow US-6W through the traffic circle -
Staying on Rte 6W TAKE THE 2nd RIGHT .
Follow Route 6 about 1.5 miles.

Turn RIGHT into the parking lot marked "LONG PATH PARKING" LINK TO THE SIGN OF "LONG PATH PARKING" LOT - http://tinyurl.com/59... (http://tinyurl.com/59djxp)
