Do you love to sing? Westcoast Harmony Chorus in Surrey, BC, may be the place for you! Rehearsals are held every Wednesday night from 7:15-10pm, in the Fleetwood area of Surrey.
Effective February 23, 2022, we will be back rehearsing in person, with all of the appropriate safety precautions in place (vaccine passports required).
We are a chorus of women and marginalized genders, and we love to sing a cappella, mainly in the barbershop style (4 part harmony). We are meeting each Wednesday evening to learn new, challenging repertoire, from traditional barbershop to contemporary pop and rock arrangements.

Our weekly rehearsals are led by Master Director Anne Downton, the baritone of Frenzy Quartet, 2017 International Quartet Champions! Every rehearsal is guaranteed to be fun, energetic, and a high-level group vocal lesson!
We are a member of Sweet Adelines International. In October 2018, we placed 13th in the world at the international competition in St. Louis, Missouri. In April 2019, we won first place at the Region 26 Chorus Competition in Surrey. This win entitled us to compete in the next International competition this past September 2022 in Phoenix, Arizona against the top choruses from around the world. We are extremely proud to say, we place 3rd in the Semifinals, and 6th place OVERALL! A huge achievement and testament to the commitment to musical excellence and drive our chorus has!

What's this all about?
Have you dreamed of singing in front of a live audience? Being part of a group of driven, competitive musicians? Have you not sung since high school, but want to find an outlet for your skills? It's that time of year that we dust off our holiday songs, and spread some cheer around the lower mainland! For 7 weeks, we're opening up our rehearsals to new members and guests to work these songs together, receive world-class vocal and performance instruction, and get ready to perform in front of several audiences around the lower mainland (details below). Several of the performances are open to the public -yes, you can invite all of your friends and family to watch YOU perform live! For just $25.00, we'll provide you with access to learning materials (print music and learning media), and you'll receive several weeks of vocal and performance instruction, and the opportunity to perform as part of our international award-winning chorus.

Our performances (subject to change) are currently scheduled as follows:
- Sunday, November 23 - Surrey Tree Lighting Festival (Surrey City Hall)
- Tuesday, December 2 - Private Event (Vancouver, BC)
- Sunday, December 7 - North Vancouver Shipyards Christmas Market
- Sunday, December 14 - North Vancouver Shipyards Christmas Market
*NOTE: you do not need to participate in all of the performances to
participate in the program.

Back in May of this year, we won the Western Canadian championship once again, qualifying us to go back to the International competition in October 2026...making NOW the best time to join us!
