📚 Book Club Gathering

Center of Litchfield
I’m excited to introduce something new for our community—our very first Book Club gathering, with plans to host several throughout the year! This will be a cozy, conversational afternoon focused on connection, curiosity, and meaningful discussion (no academic pressure here).
📖 Our first book selection:
Zami: A New Spelling of My Name by Audre Lorde
This powerful and poetic biomythography invites reflection on identity, belonging, love, and self-definition—perfect for the kind of rich, thoughtful conversation we value in this community.
🪑 About the space
We’ll be meeting at M.U.G.S., a warm and welcoming space right in the center of Litchfield. A good friend of mine runs it, and it allows us to gather more comfortably with ample parking and a private setting.
Alissa, the owner, is generously allowing us to use the space for free this first time. Moving forward, the cost will be $50 for two hours. If we have around 10 people, that works out to $5 per person per meeting, which feels very reasonable for a dedicated, private space with easy parking.
🥪 Optional lunch beforehand
If folx are interested, we can grab lunch at The Village right beforehand, meet at 11:45 am, and then walk one block over to M.U.G.S. together. Or feel free to meet us directly at M.U.G.S. at 1:00 PM—whatever works best for you.
🌿 What to expect:

• Warm, welcoming conversation (come as you are)
• Light snacks & good vibes
• A small, intentional group for deeper connection
• A relaxed structure—this is about community, not homework 😉

👥 Group size
To keep things intimate, this gathering will be capped at 9 participants and there may be room for a couple of more with the new location. Once you RSVP, I’ll share any final details as we get closer to the date.
I’m really looking forward to reading Zami together and sharing space, stories, and insights with you. This feels like a meaningful way to begin our book club journey. 📖✨
