What we’re about
Welcome to Western Oregon Editors (WOE).
This group is for anyone in the greater Eugene-Springfield area who has a passion for editing—whether you are a freelance editor; contract with a publisher, company, web business, or educational institution; or are simply someone who loves working with words.
We welcome editors beginning their businesses as well as those who have decades of experience. Some of us wear many hats—editor, writer, author, publisher. Join us to connect with like-minded individuals, share tips and resources, and build a supportive community of editors.
We refer jobs to each other and occasionally have guest speakers (editors, authors, or other experts in the field). We may bring editing questions, drill down on the mechanics of editing or changes in style guides, and keep each other abreast of workshops, events, and other opportunities.
We’re an informal group—there are no dues or fees. We currently have about ten members. This meetup is the perfect place to network, learn, and grow in your editing career.
We meet on the first and third Wednesdays of the month from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m. behind Maude Kerns Art Center, located at 1910 E. 15th Ave. in Eugene, near the University of Oregon. Join us to celebrate the art and craft of editing in all its forms.
