Why: The Pittsburgh Area "Model" Investment Club (North) is sponsored by the Pittsburgh Chapter of BetterInvesting for the purpose of educating people about stock investment club operations and using BetterInvesting stock investment decision-making techniques.

The investment club is a fully functioning investment club. People that become members invest between $10 and $100 per month, and the club maintains an investment portfolio following BetterInvesting procedures. Each month there are two (2) new stocks reviewed that have been featured in the BetterInvesting magazine. This month the Stock to study will be Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co.’s (ADR) (NYSE - TSM) and the Undervalued stock will be The Campbells Co., (NYSE - CPB).

Visitors Always Welcome: Anyone in the area can attend as a visitor. There is no cost to attend. Visitors have no commitments and can visit as often as they like. Visitors are encouraged to participate in our lively discussions (but only members may vote on investment decisions for the club). Visitors are eligible to apply for membership. Note that regular members do not register on Meetup so there will generally be at least 8 more people attending then shown in the Meetup attendee list.

It is called a "Model" investment club because it is intended to show how an investment club is to operate. People can model their own investment clubs based on this.
