On Friday, we will set up camp at the motorized camp site at Cornplanter State Forest in Tionesta. You may arrive at anytime starting at 3:00pm.
It is the only designated camp site in this forest, and it is primitive. No water, no electric, and no bathroom.
You may want to bring a shovel for some of your nature calls, but there is a public latrine at the forest headquarters about a 5 minute drive away. Also, the town of Tionesta is only about 15 minutes away from camp.
The final kayaking details will be coming soon, and as seperate events here on Meetup.
So far, it's looking something like this: On Saturday morning, we will put in on the Allegheny River, upstream of Tionesta, and take out at the Tionesta Public Boat Launch, a 12 minute drive from camp. This could be up to a 15 mile paddle.
On Sunday it will be a shorter paddle, under 10 miles, starting in Tionesta where we finished Saturday.
We can break camp at anytime on Sunday after the kayaking, or anyone can stay another night. I have the site reserved until Monday at 3:00 pm.
Everyone is responsible for their own food, water, and shelter.
If you want to camp, RSVP here. Camping will be limited to 10 people.
When the kayaking details are finalized, we will post those as two separate events for those camping, and anyone else that just wants to make a day trip.
