Advanced Abseil - Boars Head
Details
Boars Head abseil is one of the most spectacular in the Blue Mountains with good exposure, scrambling and adventure. Roughly 5 pitches with the longest being the final abseil at 50m.
All attendees will be expected to have their own personal gear (harness, descender, prussik cord, retention lanyard, carabiners), self belay and assist with rope management.
This is NOT the place for beginners or to learn how to abseil, however, if you are experienced at single pitch abseil and you have been to events hosted by Vince, then I am happy to introduce you to multi pitch abseiling on this event.
I’ve done this trip a few times and will provide the relevant directional guidance as well as bring 2 x 60m 10.2mm static ropes for the abseils. If you have a rope as well it will be lovely if you could bring it as a backup.
The weather is getting colder and most of the abseils will be in the shade so be prepared and bring lunch. We will break for lunch before the last abseil and long hike back to the cars.
