What will happen at a WSTI AI meetup event?
Our events blend learning with extensive networking opportunities. We'll start with an open networking session, followed by insightful presentations from two local Western Sydney entrepreneurs, business or community leaders on AI topics. Our 'Community Spotlight' segment allows attendees to pitch AI-related projects and receive feedback. We'll conclude with more networking and hands-on demos, providing ample time to discuss ideas, explore collaborations, and build connections within the Western Sydney tech community.
What's the schedule for this event?
- 5:30 - 6:00 pm: Sign-in & networking (light refreshments will be provided)
- 6:00 - 6:15 pm: Presentation 1: Reimagining Visual Storytelling with AI - by Faiyaz Gazi

Who are the guest speakers?
Faiyaz is a Western Sydney-based video production professional with a passion for exploring the intersection of AI, ethics, creativity, and social impact. His fascination with people led him to video production, and with the rise of AI, he became intrigued by its effect on how communities adapt and express themselves. In the first talk, Faiyaz will be showcasing AI-driven video production and workflow, highlighting how this technology democratizes creative expression. "I'm excited to live in a time where unique and diverse ideas can be shared more easily than ever before," said Faiyaz. Lailei is a local XR/AI educator and technologist featured by Parramatta council. As the founder of Immersive Academy, a local not-for-profit organization established in 2017, he pioneered Australia's first inclusive XR/AI education programs. Beyond creating AI/XR apps and games, Lailei is passionate about digital inclusion, advocating to ensure that the benefits of emerging technologies reach everyone in our local community.
