The Objectives:
The Western Sydney Tech Innovators group aims to provide a local forum for Western Sydney communities to get informed about, participate in, and benefit from the current technological revolution led by advancements in Artificial Intelligence (e.g., ChatGPT, AI Agents and Automation, AI Art), Extended Reality technologies (e.g., Virtual Reality, Mixed Reality, Metaverse), and other emerging technologies. We also strive to address and mitigate potential negative impacts caused by these technologies, such as career disruption and deepfake scams.
Who should join:
Our main audience comprises innovators in the broadest sense - anyone creating new or improving existing ideas, products, services, artworks, or stories in their businesses or professional work, while also interested in applying the latest technologies to their processes.
We welcome not only startup founders and creatives who may be traditionally categorized as innovators but also individuals who want to stay informed and apply cutting-edge technologies in their businesses, projects, professional work, and personal lives.
Each month's event will highlight a specific topic, technology, and related use cases (e.g., Virtual Reality for education, AI for business owners, Generative AI for storytellers). Attendees can select topics and events that align with their personal interests.

This group is in partnership with the City of Parramatta Council, Western Sydney Startup Hub powered by Spacecubed, LaunchPad Western Sydney University and UNSW Founders.

Join the Western Sydney Tech Innovators - Community AI Lab, a dynamic program designed to foster AI literacy and tech innovation in our local community.
This program is tailored to curious minds who want to explore, experiment and understand how they can benefit from AI technologies. Through hands-on activities and top-quality, on-demand learning materials, community members will gain:- Practical skills using AI tools to solve real-world problems or create new possibilities
- In-depth understanding of how AI will impact your industry, business and personal career via hands-on exploration
The lab offers engaging drop-in activities across three main areas:
- AI Art & Media Creation: Create stunning artwork and videos with AI tools, explore AI-powered visual effects and digital content creation
- AI App Development: Build simple chatbots and AI-powered tools, learn to integrate AI capabilities into basic applications
- AI Work & Business Automation: Streamline work processes with AI, enhance social media management, and improve customer service automation
Important Note: We will provide limited laptops for showcasing and demo activities. However please bring your own laptop if you'd like to spend more time on creating yourself!
